Indians definitely do not refer to the UK as the motherland and have never done so. Indeed, most are embarrassed and cringe that the West Indians from the Carribean used such terminology when they arrived in the UK.

 and British Protectorate Id cards .
 Many of them tried to come back to India the home of their forefathers ,
but were denied entry by the Indira Gandhi Govt .

The UK was forced to accept them either because they held
British Passports / Protectorate Documents .

This in now way entitles them to call the UK their motherland .
