Goa Budget : Some Highlights ( Stamp Duty on property purchase- a Correction) see the amendments in double brackets. Buying Property in Goa ? Good News!!! Stamp duty reduced from 4% to 2.5%. Different denomination Stamp papers ((for registration of 'agreement for sale' proposed)) and to use as foll: Property Value up to one Lac, the buyer will have to use Rs.100 Stamps papers. upto 5 lacs use Rs.500 stamp paper (( per lac ?)) 5 lacs and above use Rs.1000 Stamp Paper ((per one lac ?)) ((Actual amount for stamp paper seems confusing. Some newspaper say per one lac as abv, where as other says just 3 denomination stamp paper for 3 slabs/Value i.e. upto 1 lac (Rs.100), up to 5 lacs (Rs.500) and 5 lacs and above (Rs.1000). This sounds reasonable though.)) ((Currently, the same is done on just Rs.15 worth of Stamp papers (for up to 15 lacs ?)) ============================================================ That means, if some wishes to buy the recently advertised JoeGoaUk's Bungalow, the total stamp duty one will have to pay at least ((Rs.1,40,000 or Rs.1,01,000)) Now, you work out the asking price for his bungalow.
