Dear Domnic (I rarely get an opportunity to address myself),

Thanks for appreciating my Aichea Dissak Chintop (ADC). I began to write ADC on October 25, 2003 with the sole intent to reach Goans worldwide in order to help them learn Konkani, especially overseas Goans; I am glad it's serving the purpose. It's my small contribution to our beloved mother tongue. Per Rene Barreto’s request, I also post ADC on [EMAIL PROTECTED] Furthermore, Joel D'Souza also posts my ADC on his Daily Goa News Clips.

I thank Goanet for giving me the opportunity to reach Goans worldwide through my ADC and articles. My articles are a narration of my life growing up in Goa. These are all my own experiences - joys and pains. I'm proud of my heritage and I hope my writing inspires the readers to relive life in Goa in the middle of the 20th century.

I will gradually compile the ADC into a booklet.

Thank you once again for your appreciation and encouragement.

Moi-mogan,
Domnic Fernandes

Subject : [Goanet] RE:(Goanet) The Internet: A Teaching Tool For Konkani by PRodrgues in Goanet Digest, Vol 3, Issue 156

I am responding to a wonderful proposal by Mr P Rodrigues In the Goanet
Digest Vol.3 Issue 156 - The Internet: A Teaching Tool For Konkani.

Mr Rodrigues makes a proposal I would gladly make myself available as a
pupil.

I would be interested in the Roman Script as Devnagri is more than beyond
me.

Furthermore, it would suit me to log on at a time convenient to me to pick
up at a point in a lesson where I might have left it previously. I would
find it difficult to log in at a particular time or daily for that matter.
I am sure there may be others like me who would prefer this flexibility I
request.

Secondly would there any written text I could avail myself of and to which
all contributors, to the teaching of Konkani on the Internet, would conform
to in order to be consistent with a logical and programmed presentation of
grammar and vocabulary for the benefit of the Internet pupil?

It would be sad for this wonderful idea to lose support because pupils may
find it difficult to keep up with the pace or the presentation.

Then there is the question of the different dialects and there must be many
though my limited knowledge brings to mind the dialects for Salcete and
Bardez in Goa.

I would be very interested in knowing how the presentation would best be
progressed in due course.

Thank you Mr Rodrigues for coming up with this proposal and as a would be
pupil I would like to see it come to fruition.

PS. I enjoy reading the contribution from Mr Domnic Fernandes (in Konkani
and with translation) under the title 'AICHEA DISSAK CHINTOP'. I wonder if
Mr Fernandes would consider producing a compilation of all these wonderful
gems.
