Singapore Airlines flying cheap to Australasia Indo-Asian News Service Kolkata, March 28 (IANS) Singapore Airlines Tuesday announced a 20 percent cut in its fares for flights linking the city and the Australasian region.
"Our customers from Kolkata are increasingly opting for travel to new and exciting destinations. While leisure travellers are seeking more options in the Far East and Australia, business traffic is growing exponentially to China and Japan," said Bharath Mahadeven, state manager (Eastern India) of Singapore Airlines. "To give impetus to this trend and to provide easier travel opportunities we have introduced these special fares to some key cities in the Australasian region," he added. The fares for Bali, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka have also been reduced. Singapore Airlines operates 47 weekly flights to Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Amritsar.
