Goa ODI tickets sold out
Panaji: Hundreds of cricket fans who waited in the scorching sun had to
return home disappointed, as tickets for the third One-Day International
match between India and England to be played at Margao, Goa, on April 3 was
sold out.

The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has sold a total of 12,050 tickets of Rs
400, Rs 750, Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,750 denomination, making it a Rs 1.25 crore
bonanza from ticket sales alone.

The Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) has spent Rs 3 crore in getting the Nehru
Stadium at Fatorda ready for the match. “It was a challenge for us to shift
the dressing rooms from the West to the South Stand, constructing galleries
for the BCCI, umpires and many other things,” said V M Prabhudesai,
executive director, SAG.

Other expenses included procurement of a super soaker (Rs 3.14 lakh),
bowling machine (Rs 3.11 lakh) and remote-controlled sight-screens (Rs 9
lakh), two grass cutters (Rs 6.50 lakh) and a 2-ton roller (Rs 2.79 lakh). A
total of 15 Close Circuit Television Cameras have been procured at a cost of
Rs 30 lakh.

The match itself has been insured for Rs 4.25 crore to cover any
eventualities, including natural calamities and terrorist attacks
