Gilbert--
I don't believe in "raking the past" but in the interest of transparency
it is important to put the issues in context.
As you must know, since you reside in the state of New York and has
participated in the activities of the Goan community what happened when a
Hindu aspired to the presidency of the Goan Association. This is not
something that happened in the "past" but in 2005 and right in the middle
of the cultural center of the world, where the Hindu was tarred and
feathered and was "run out of town". I feel strongly in this matter
because I was involved and backed the Hindu. Nonetheless if you are
interested in my detailed point of view you are at liberty to contact me
privately. Although well-meaning attempts by people like you to sweep
the matter under the rug are understandable, Goan bigotry and animus
towards Hindus are very much alive and although I hope these sectarian
feelings will dissipate, events like the one above do not provide hope.

With all due respects, this appellation would belong to a bygone era, if
posts like the one below did not keep digging stories from that era in
unrelated issues.
