Lashkar militant arrested in Gulbarga DH News Service Gulbarga: An activist of militant outfit Laskhar-e-Taiba, who had received training in Pakistan, has accidentally fallen into the police net here on Thursday. Shami Ahmed Shah (32), a resident of Goa, had undergone a 13-month training in carrying out terrorist activities. He has been camping in Gulbarga for the last four months and was returning from Goa on Thursday when he was arrested, district Superintendent of Police Ramachandra Rao told a press conference on Friday. Police have recovered two live grenades, a pistol, a bag containing urdu literature, books, a mobile phone, and a few audio and video cassettes from him. Shah had brought these from Ahmedabad. He was arrested at the Gulbarga railway station, Mr Rao said. He had earlier told the police that his name was Abdul Rehman. The police were keeping a close vigil on railway station and bus stand here to record movements of Naxalites in the region. On Thursday, they noticed Shah getting off the Mumbai- Chennai mail. On seeing the police he became panic and was immediately arrested. Investigation revealed that he had rented a room on MSK mill road three months ago and had been visiting the city frequently since then to fulfil the task of influencing youngsters and sending them to Muzaffarabad in Pak occupied Kashmir for a 13-month training to carry out terrorist activities in India. He had been carrying out the same exercise in Hyderabad for five to six months before coming to the city. Mr Rao said Shah might have come to the city yesterday to obtain a fake passport for himself. He said cases had been booked against him under the Indian Arms Act.
