Domnic Fernandes continues (Part II) his reminiscence of
                       Mapusa of the 1950s

I'm new at Goanet and so far my experience has been an
enjoyable one. There are posts of really good quality
and the level of debate is par excellence. A bit of
"masala" here and there makes for a good read, even
the occasional name-calling makes for a good read, as
long as it doesn't become personal.

In my opinion, cyber space is not different from any
other space, occupied by people. There will always be
those that use hyphenated words to make their point
when a four letter one would have done just as well
(no puns intended), there are those who become
obsessed with being "prolific", there are those that
need to have their egos stoked and there are those
that simply wake up angry at the world.

What I do miss occasionally is the humour. Somehow
Goannet brings to mind, terse old men sipping bitter
coffe while they pontificate about the world. Lighten
up!! Profundity is best served with a side dish of
humour.

I don't think things will change substantially despite
pleas. As long as the moderators, moderate in
moderation, I think Goannet will outlive its
subscribers. And that is a very good thing!
