I have VD Well, what is VD ? No, this is definitely not 'tis number' 30 no. bundle bidi or cigarette. I am sure some of you figured it out already, others please wait till end of this message. And who knows ? you may have it too. You, liar...cheeky Btd!!!
Ok, about 5 years ago, I had noticed a small itchy spot around my wrist. I thought, I was allergic to watch metal belt/strap. The spot was giving me hard time, it will not disappear despite applying all sorts of ointments like btex, ringguard, quadridern etc etc. What more ? As it was clearly visible to others, every one used to ask me pointing their fingers at my wrist 'what is this ?' Nearly one year now, no sign of any cure or disappearance, I said 'I had enough of this' and reluctantly decided to see a skin specialist in Panaji. When I saw Dr. Rege (retired ex GMC), I was felt so relaxed because of his age may be (I am the last person to visit any doctors). Do you have any more like this anywhere else ? said the Doctor 'No, not at all' was my answer (as if I am telling him the truth). With his prescription and after 3 visits, it(spot) seems finally disappeared. Let's talk about the VD now. Any clue yet ??? Remember I used to frequently visit Margao Municipal Garden ? 'Tube light pettli antam' ?? It gives me a great pleasure to disclose you that I have/had VD (Remember ? I am well known for going to such an extent where others dare not..) And I had it for over 10-15 years. Now, you may say 'Avois'. Yes, it is true. 10-15 years ? it must have spread all over by now.. (yes. you can say some thing like that..) 'Antam hanv kitem kortolom' ? Now, what will I do ?? There is no other alternative now, I have done every thing ( I mean all types of ointments, 'Quadridern' being my favourite as it gave me some temporary relief as it does not give any burning sensation, and imagine using the same for last 15 years..) The skin around become very delicate or perhaps sensitive or weak due to continuous applications etc Ah!! I will now see Dr. Rege (sooner the better..) Went to see him one Friday around 4.30pm (that's the time I visited him last). His board now says 'Mon-Fri 9-12pm' only. Waited till Monday, and went to see him around 10am. At the reception, I asked the girl 'wanted to see Dr.Rege' The girl said 'who you said ?', 'Dr. Rege' I repeated. 'I am sorry, Dr. Rege is no more in this world now, today is his twelfth day' said the receptionist. I was shocked.., said to myself 'why I have not seen him two weeks earlier ?' When asked if there was any one such doctor around, i was suggested to see one Dr. Dubashi who is few buildings away. Assuming that this Doctor is also Male, I immediately decided to go and see him. 'Can I see Dr. Dubashi' I asked the doctor's receptionist there. 'Sure' said she but wait till the other patient comes out. Thank God I said, at least I don't have to spend hours waiting for my turn also there were no other patients around specially the women. The patient comes out... 'you may now go in' said she When I slide open the door, guess what I saw ?? --A young lady doctor in her mid 20's-- When I saw her, I was nervous and speechless for a moment and I am sure the doctor figured it out too. 'Podlom re podlom, trasant' What to do now ? There is no escape.. Took guts to narrate the whole story to her (assuming there would be no need to see me -the affected part I mean). 'Ok, let me see it properly, go and lye down on the bench/bed there' said she. .. and there she comes.. '..oh! I see..., remove that hand, so that I can see it properly..' she requested. NOW DON'T YOU LAUGH, did I had any choice ?? ..I really could not wait to get out from there.. 'No problem' she said, blaming me for not seeing any doctor all this time and using the same ointment over and over again. She prescribed me 15 tablets of 'Zimig' and CAnasten Cream and advised me to come again after 15 days (as if I am coming back) I would have not gone there first place if I knew the doctor was 'she' and not 'he'. At the chemist, I enquired if there was any other such doctor nearby. Now, you may say why another Doctor ? Well, as you know I was not very comfortable with the Young Lady Doctor and felt that I may have withheld some important info etc. and thought of taking sort of a second opinion. Unfortunately, there are no male doctors around and I was recommended to see a senior lady doctor retired GMC Professor Dr. Miranda next to market. After consulting her, I was glad to see her prescription was almost the same as the previous one i.e. Zimig & Cream was common. except, her charges were Rs.150 compare to that of other's Rs.100. 15 Zimig tablets only cost me over Rs.500 (but new equivalent product is now in market called 'terbest' which is lot cheaper than Zimig). Now, you may want to know how I am feeling now..? Well, within first 10 days only, I noticed some sign of relief and after repeat visit/prescription i.e.30 days later, here I am almost fully recovered. I regret ignoring my problem all along. Me and my other half are very happy now as I can now engaged in making love during day time too (previously only at night under complete darkness-just to hide my problems..) That's it for today. Here is some thing for you.. (let me speak out the message in this post) Always Remember... Your health is in your hand 'Tumchi bholaki tumchea hatant' Prevention is better than cure (e.g. ever heard of 'condoms'?) Any sign or any problems, see doctor immediately. Don't feel bad about it and remember you are not alone. Look at me for last 10-15 years I could not do 'day time' what I could do 'night time'. What a 'jelad picassao!!' If you want to do something do it today, never postpone it until tomorrow. Wasted time never returns ( I lost 15 good years of my peak time). At least speak to some one may be your close friend etc don't keep it with your self. Remember, it may not be what you think. Keeping quite, you are not only creating problems for yourself but to others too like your other half. === So, you know now what is VD or did I had one ?? No, I only made the suject line so that it attract more and more readers like you. Also, names in this story may have been changed to protect their identities. Note: Dr.Rege's was a good doctor very friendly and polite. May his soul rest in peace.
