Goa to Take IFFI Management.(All)
Goa Government will take over entire management of International Film Festival
of
India (IFFI) from Union Information & Broadcasting Ministry's Directorate of
Films
Festivals by 2008, Chief Secretary JP Sing said.

Bollywood 'baddie' bashes Goa Marriott Staff (GT)
Shakti Kapoor's goondagiri carries on in real life.
The bad man of Bollywood, Shakti Kapoor just extended his reel life villainy to
real
life.
He arrived at the Hotel Marriott on Monday afternoon with a film crew, got
heavily
drunk before creating a scene at the waterfront restaurant around 9.30pm.
Early Tuesday morning, Shakti, heavily drunk, wreaked havoc-punching and
slapping
two staff members of Hotel Marriote, Goa for a simple reason: he was asked to
clear
the bill for his drinks and food. As matters went out of hand, the hotel
authorities
informed the police, but unlike in reel life Shakti managed to go scot-free.
He punched one waiter (Burzin) on his face at 12.15am.
He urinated in the garden near the swimming pool in full view of everyone in the
restaurant.
Later he went to the lobby of the hotel, where he slapped duty manager Vinay
Nair.
When security officer Ait intervened, he started abusing him too and then Vinay
called police dialing 100. At 1am police team arrived.
No official complaint lodged by the Hotel so police told Shakti to retire to his
room and once he was in the room, the police left.

He was in the news several times before. Goa Marriote was in the news few
months
ago on child sex scandal God knows what has happened to that case. May be it
was an
another gossip..
Child death Case: Nurse, Aaya convicted: GT
The Judicial Magistrate First Class Panjim yesterday convicted Martha Vaz, a
nurse
and Pramila Naik, aaya, both attached to Bal Niketan, Ribandar for their gross
negligence and causing the death of an eight-month-old baby, after it was
attacked
by ants. The court would pronounce the sentence on Friday.
The incident was reported nearly 6 months ago.
The baby died after it was attacked by ants in a room and when both the staff
were
on duty. The child was found abandoned at a jetty by the Harbour police in
October
1999 and was kept at the Bal Niketan, Ribandar.
JoeSays: I thought this was a pretty straight forward case. Don't know why it
took
nearly 6 years for justice ?? How callous nurses and aayas can be some times ?
Shame on them.
