Just 2/3 years ago, the NRE Deposit rates were 1.8% to 4% which is now about 6.5% (highest so far 6.35%)
Some Tips: If you have already some fixed deposit made or renewed during the last 2/3 years, you may now instruct your bank to break your FDs and reinvest at the prevailing rate of interest i.e. up to 6.35% now. Normally, there is a penalty for breaking or withdawing or encashment during the first one year. There is no penalty after one year. So, if your previous FD is for 3 years whose interest rate say less than 4% and one year has just lapsed/passed, you can still break it and re-invest at the current rates without any loss. Please ask should your require any help in the matter. As for domestic saving rates: A senior citizen can avail of up to 9% others around 8% for a 3 year fix deposit [EMAIL PROTECTED] for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ Konkani Songs, Goan Photos, Tiatr/Film VCDs, Bank interest rates etc etc (for updates etc click below) http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/files/ ___________________________________________________________ Switch an email account to Yahoo!
