Untitled tiatrists George Alvares Mangor hill, Vasco Goa having tiatr as the only means of entertainment is also getting bored inspite of all efforts by artists. Things get worse in all the angles. Now one of the things which really get me irritated is the quality of the tiatr which has nothing but the family crisis and very less of comedy. The latest being the craze for vcd films, agreed some are worth watching while many are too bad to describe. Lately I wasted my money on purchasing the vcd of William de Curtorim. The worst I have ever seen, I was upset by William, being such a famous political composer, had such terrible songs and Hortencio Pereira who I believe to be a good composer disappointed me with his song about today's tiatrists having their own title, topic was good, but composing was bad. So I lost my value for money. And the worst is to see the advertisement on the newspaper, such terrible ad, Why is William praising himself and telling lies that the govt is about to ban the vcd, what is there to ban it and what is there to buy it? Another craze among our tiatrists is to have their own title. I only knew that it is officially given a title to any artist, but our own tiatrists try taking titles for themselves. I know Roseferns used to have his shows a century years back when he had Jacob as his comedian, but after Jacob quit Roseferns, Roseferns never had a single of his shows go century, so who gave him the title King of centuries? Menin de Bandar once had his tiatr SUCCORINE a massive hit just because it was a true story in Goa, so that tiatr went to be a double century, after that his other tiatr was never even a century so who did he get the title of KING OF DOUBLE CENTURY? Then there are other artists like Mario Menezes titled as king of tragedy, Pascoal Rodrigues titled as prince of centuries, Maxi Pereira Junior Shaksphere (too bad), No.1 tragedy man, and not to forget Lawry Travaso who is titled as king of Melody. I think Lawry must stop copying or borrowing somebodies tunes and learn to compose tunes. Anyone can compose a song but very few can compose tunes and Lawry is not one of the few so who has named him the king of melody. Goans are not fools, having such titles and don't entertain to the expectations of the audience is terrible. So please get rid of these title as you are not given these title officially and don't fool the people of Goa. People of Goa please be careful by buying the vcd's ask for opinion and don't get carried away by these vcd's or tiatrs. Nowadays a vcd or a tiatr is already considered a hit much before it is already released! You can see how our own tiatrists take us fo a ride. So one can come to know that it is just money making racket and not entertaining from the heart.
