Coconut slightly baked also works fine. Try changin regularly i.e. after Coconute, try fruits like mango/Chicoo then fry fish.rice or paddy rice etc becuse rats nowaday become very inteligent or suspecious.
Also, after every catch (of a rat), pass the whole trap (metal or Wooden) thru boiling water and dry. or else previous rat's smell might keep the other rats away.
