23 May: Illinois Media Centre.  Professor Kim Pereira of the School of
Theater has accepted the position of director of the Honors Program at
Illinois State University . In 2003 he received the university's Strand
Diversity Award . He is the author of "August Wilson and the
African-American Odyssey," of five plays, has presented papers at
national and regional conferences, and wrote, filmed, narrated and
produced a two-hour documentary on contemporary Indian theatre. For full

Kim  was born in Bombay.  His  father, Frank Pereira was a sports
journalist for the Times of India, an avid hockey player and  originally
from Parra. His mother, Doreen Pereira,  a retired Deputy Manager at
Shell in India, was from Pilerne.
