gives one unpleasant sight of garbage being strewn
around over filled bins. Stray dogs feast around
remanants of the roadside food carts which are now
patronised even by the prominent citizens of Margao
irrespective of the hygiene standards. The local MLA
too is the "patron saint" of these roadside owners for
every single vote matters to him given that the BJP is
gunning for his political ouster by in the forthcoming
elections.
There is yet another shocking disclosure made by a top
civic bureaucrat that a construction file of an
illegal building near the residence of Mr Luisinho
Faleiro Minister of State for Education has gone
"missing". Incidentally in August 2005 the landowner
and the Builder a brother in law of Mr Ravi Sitaram
Naik MLA Ponda and Goa Pradesh Congress Committee
Chief was served a notice by MMC for revocation of the
Occupancy Certificate of the Building being illegal
as the same was obtained fraudulently.
Comment: How cute! Mr. Luisinho Faleiro, minister of State for
Education should know better. If we are to stop these encroachments
and illegal constructions, then all Ministers including himself should
not patronize illegal Kiosks, Matka stalls, illegal encroachments and
kick backs of any kind what so ever. Once the holy grail has been
sullied, then unfortunately there is nothing left that is sacrosanct!
It is not one law for you and another for the masses, eventually the
band wagon will roll!
