Churchil Alemao has threatened to storm Inox multiplex on Sunday, if the screening of the controversial film The Da Vinci Code continues. He also added that several people are agitated over the screening at Inox and warned that if the movie is not pulled out, he would lead the people into stopping the movie from being screened. Snehhal Chitnneni the Pulic Relations Officer from the Inox Leisure Ltd, Mumbai said, There is no link between the Goa State Governments communiqué to the I & B Ministry or the Censor Board and the delay in screening the film in Goa. All decisions pertaining to the release of the film in Goa were taken only by the Inox mamagement without any pressure from outside source. (H). Mr. Alemao warned the management of Inox that by tomorrow (3/6) if they fails to stop the screening of the film he would create a law and order situation on Sunday. Calangute MLA Mr. Agnelo Fernandes today said the people of Calangute will stage a protest outside the multiplex in the city at 10am today (Sunday). ..meanwhile, nearly 20 policemen along with two offers have been posted in the multiplex since yesterday and the shows went off peacefully. The offcials of the Inox, when contacted said that the shows are receiving good response from the Goan public. They also said that they have not received any instructions from the state government and that the film is being screened in all its multiplexes in the country. (NT) Citizens have been making beeline for the theatre, thus making the movie a complete sell out show. Though many people remarked that the movie was not at all that it was cut out to be, they did agree that they had never seen so many people going for the same show, or ever seen the largest auditorium in Inox, filled to capacity. All in all, it seems to have been an exercise in futility and much ado about nothing (GT W/ender) Churchill added that baring three or four MLAs, none have shown interest in condemning the movie and gain attacked his pet targets, Education Minister Luizinho Faleiro and the Assembly speaker Francisco Sardinha, stating that the duo who are responsible leaders of the Christian community have not taken up the issue. In the same tone, Churchill stated that the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar was one of the legislators, who had raised his voice of discontent on the issue and named Calangute MLA Agnelo Fernandes, St. Andre MLA Francisco Silveira, minister Joaquim Alemao and former St. Cruz MLA Victor Gonsalves as having phoned him on the issue. Churchill demanded that the State Government initiate action against the theatre management for screening the movie at the multiplex.
