Dear Creepy Subscriber
Broad shouldered, green eyed and, funnel legged Aaron Savio Lobo was
recently awarded the Bill Gates scholarship to study for his PhD at
the world famous Cambridge University.
I know Aaron from way back. In fact if you go way way back you’ll find
us walking hand in hand prancing and giggling on the beach wearing
only leopard skin thongs to cover our ...ahem…privates. I suggest
therefore you don’t go /that/ way back.
Two years ago he presented a study on sea snakes (part of his Master’s
thesis at the wildlife institute Dhera Dun) at Cambridge and was
awarded the ‘best presentation’ prize for the same. It is therefore no
surprise that this shy bulky young herpetologist was selected for the
scholarship. Yes Aaron has had his share of fame (though not half as
much as me!). Remember him in ‘/The Call of the Snake’/ and /Creepy
Times 5/?
Unlike me however, he prefers to maintain a low profile disappearing
every now and then into the jungles of Tamil Nadu and wandering the
beaches of Cochin where he pursues his study of natural history while
apparently still frolicking and struting around like a peacock in
those terribly undersized leopard spotted thongs.
‘I’ll probably be leaving somewhere at the end of the year’ says Aaron
shrugging his boulder like shoulders while his ‘toothpick’ like calves
struggle to balance his unbalanced /Johnny Bravo/ like frame.
Included in this issue is an early photograph of the two of us
(possibly 1998). Curly haired Aaron shaves my head after he’s finished
shaving my eyebrows!
Speaking of awards I recently was felicitated by our Parra Panchayat
for eleven years of succesful snake rescuing carried out in tour
village. The award included a cheque of Rs 5000/-

Parra Panchayat felicitation ceremony.
Loads of people ask me what a non venomous snake bite feels like. This
one was given to me recently by a seven foot long ratsnake. The bite is
certainly painful but it isn't half as bad as it looks.
