Mahatma Gandhi tends to be over-rated in the West. Though this is off-topic, do you believe it's because of the media blitz that he's benefitted from globally in the second half of the 20th century? FN PS: Not many realise that while Gandhi had strong views *against* the untouchability involving the lowest-of-the-low in the Indian caste hierarchy (or outside of it), he didn't have any problem with the caste system itself. -- ---------------------------------------------------------- Frederick 'FN' Noronha | Yahoomessenger: fredericknoronha http://fn.goa-india.org | +91(832)2409490 Cell 9822122436 ---------------------------------------------------------- 2248 copylefted photos from Goa: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/ _______________________________________________ Goanet mailing list Goanet@lists.goanet.org http://lists.goanet.org/listinfo.cgi/goanet-goanet.org
