25 foreigners blacklisted,3 deported in June: DGP
---------------------------------------------------
Twenty-five foreign nationals have been "blacklisted" by Ministry
of Home Affairs, while three foreign nationals residing at Anjuna
Yemeni, German and British were deported in the month of June
for overstaying, said Director General of Police (DGP) Neeraj Kumar
on Tuesday.

Kumar disclosed that the 25 of those blacklisted mostly comprise
Russians and Israelis involved in the drug trade. One of them is Israeli
national Agai, who, the DGP alleged was involved in drug peddling,
had recently approached the Indian Embassy in Israel for a visa
which was turned down.

We are not only in the process of deporting, but also blacklisting
those not wanted in the State, he observed. Blacklisting will help us
in restricting many of the drug traffickers entering the State and the
country, he added.

Kumar informed that a sniffer dog, a Labrador, meant for the
Anti-Narcotic Cell has been trained at the BSF Academy in
Tekanpur. The same will be used by the ANC at the airport when
the season begins. We've got sanction for another four pups which
will be trained for different sections of the police, he said.

The DGP said the airport will have daily presence of ANC personnel
during the season time. "We have information that Goa has become
one of the transit points for soft drugs like cannabis and hashish.
These mostly find way to European countries through charter flights
taking off from the State," he stated.
