David is a Designer and Commercial Artist par excellence. He studied
Commercial Art in the much sought after JJ School of Art Bombay now Mumbai. On
graduating, he joined Lintas India as a visualiser in the area of
Displays/Exhibitions/Packaging.

However not one given to basking in the luxury of a comfortable job, David
fired with a fierce drive to widen his horizons and shrug the danger of
complacency, in a fiercely competitive world, left for the UK where he spent
five fruitful years studying 3D Design in the prestigious Medway College of
Design Kent. On completion of the course he worked for some time with Murdoch
Design Associates and gained some valuable experience, to add to his
burgeoning repertoire of skills.

Back in India in the eighties, he rejoined Lintas for a second stint, in his
blossoming career. True Goan that he is David was smitten by the wander lust
and took off into the challenging area of free lancing. He was associated with
several blue chip projects in the fields of exports, exhibitions and packaging
with brands like Indus Valley Rice, Stallion, Fair and Lovely, ( HLL EXPORTS)
Mark Advertising and displays/exhibitions with Mr. Mohan and Kiran
Talcherkar.Packaging and Displays with Da Cunha Advertising and Market Movers.
Presently associated with .Frointer Marketing. (Events, Exhibitions and
Promotions.)

Meanwhile, David also spent a lot of time in Goa (finding her charms too
difficult to resist), blazing new trails. He did quite a few projects with
Hotel Taj Exotica of the Taj Group of Hotels, an international leading Hotel
Chain. It was here that he finally found his true love that is the art
(literally) of miniature painting. What started as a hobby has now turned out
to be his passion and bread and butter!

The miniature paintings capture the essence and flavour of Goa with breath
taking effect. Goa known all over the world as a holiday destination, is
famous for its virgin beaches and majestic churches and picturesque temples.
Goa is a mix of the ancient and the modern, a blend of the Portuguese and
Indian cultures in perfect unison. Life in pristine, verdant Goa with its old
world charm and effervescent hospitable people, is like a folk song, melodious
and harmonious. David, hailing from the ancient village of Cuncolim (still
untouched by the evils of modernization), has made it his mission to preserve
the essence of Goa for posterity. But let us not go overboard singing praises
and paens to David. View the paintings for yourself and see if you remain
untouched or get as emotionally charged as David does!
