BSNL MANAGEMENT One afternoon I was woken up by strident telephone rings.A voice tells me that bills have been dispatched, and if I have received it, to ignore this message etc. Having received my bill a few days back and already paid it , and also never ever having defaulted even after not receiving my bills, having had to obtained duplicates to do so,I was furious and decided to do something about this nonsense! A gross violation of my right to privacy, peace and health. The Telephone directory being hopelessly out of date, I rang up 197. After a long wait"Your call is important to us" and so on,they give me 2437519, 2437510, both numbers as redundant as their Telephone directory.So I decide to call the PRO/DGM/GM. It is working day, 1545 hrs. All numbers given ,keep ringing.No joy! Im finally told there are many DGMs and which one I want.So I said Administration. This DGM says contact Accounts.No amount of talk interests him in this administrative matter.Now I have to find the relevant accounts telephone number.Luckily, the operator at the GMs office gives me two numbers of the Chief Accounts Officer.I try both for 15 mintes. Ringing,but no one picking it up.I ring back GMs office and am mercifully told that she will get back to me.She does ,after about half an hour. The CAO is on leave.So why doesnt someone else in the Department pick up the phone?Phone is in his cabin, and shortage of staff! Can I speak to the GM? No.Why?He is not interested. I overhear her telling him of my complaint.She politely informs me he is busy.With such attitude and administration, I wonder how they will enhance our countrys reputation or compete with the private players where efficiency and service is the name of the game..
