Hi Bosco, Mythological literature refers to the Puranas and the epics, Mahabharata and Ramayana. Scholastic philosophy refers to the repackaging and elaboration of Aristotlean Philosophy and development Christian Rationalism by Christian scholars in the Middle Ages, e.g. by John Scotus Erigena, St. Anselm, Abelard, Peter Lombard, St. Thomas Aquinas, Roger Bacon, William of Occam, etc. Religious literature principally refers to the Bible, the history of the Church and Church tradition. Religious music in my mind refers to things like Gregorian chants, gospel music and Christmas carols. I forgot to add religious art and architecture to the list of desirable practices. > >Re "Worship of godmen and swamis" - this is big in >India (Hinduism).....some of these people have a cult >following and there are similarly entities in >Christianity too, who lead >an embellished private >life. > I guess you are right. But this has now become a huge phenomenon in among Goan Hindus. Almost every Hindu in Goa is a devotee of some new swami on the block. > >Mario contends that "Santosh insists that all atheists >have excellent moral codes simply because he says so, >and demands that we accept this". I have never asserted, let alone insisted, what has been attributed to me. My position on this issue is clearly stated in the 7 points I have outlined in the following link: http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2006-July/045529.html Cheers, Santosh _______________________________________________ Goanet mailing list [email protected] http://lists.goanet.org/listinfo.cgi/goanet-goanet.org
