Hi Gilbert:

You are right on the money! In my several years of working with Americans, Canadians, British, Australians and Asians many of whom are my friends (Christians, Muslims as well as non-religious) — I never experienced an incident where someone ridiculed, mocked or passed insensitive comments on anyone’s religion or religious beliefs. I can only attribute that to their upbringing and self-respect, where sensibility and sensitivity for others are deeply ingrained.

It seems that simple notions of right and wrong have become so shrouded by self-serving justifications and rationalizations; manipulations and tactical gamesmanship (on Goanet) that many people really don't have the moral clarity to know that religion-bashing and ridiculing religion are wrong.

When people try to dignify their stance, (ego and audacity) to ridicule religion and resort to “religion bashing” ... it is pathetic and speaks volumes about their character.

Best wishes,
Joe Vaz
