I was invited to spend the weekend at London with Mario Fernandes(and
his wife),who used to teach in St.Andrew's Institute Vasco.

Mario did mention there would be some Goan programmes but I didnt know
the details till I was attending the same.

On Saturday 22nd July, I was at a thanksgiving mass, in the Goan
Chaplaincy, Mitcham, celebrated by three Goan priests Fr.Oliver, Fr.
Lucas and Fr.James. The subsequent dinner and dance with English and
konkani live music was very entertaining, with the live music provided
by Mario,Lawrence and Adline(lovely Lorna's numbers) and Abel & Veena
Nunes(Rainbows End). There was one other person who sang good Goan
konkani songs to which everyone danced a lot...but I didnt catch his
name.

On Sunday 23rd July, I was at the UK Goan Festival 2006.Quite
impressive I must say.A huge huge gathering of Goan people. Lots of
stalls! It was like being back in Goa.....It was a day for meeting old
friends and aquaintances. And I had a real good time :-)

Sadly the day ended and we had to go home. But not without buying some
sorpotel for my international friends in Birmingham. The chorizam had
finished. And the reshiyaad wasnt something I would risk eating next
day....

Here are some pictures from the UK Goan festival...
