Dear Vivek,
1) I am not a 'frog in the well'. I can send you photos of my recent Sao
Joao experiments in Aldona, where I more closely resemble a toad.
2) I am not a village hero. Although I do cherish my weekends in Aldona I
am not considered a hero there, nor where I live in Miramar or where I work
in Panjim. In cyberspace though, yes, I am sometimes chivalrous to females
deserving of my chivalry. Ms. Know-Alls are undeserving.
3) I can hardly be called insular as I live a very 'public' existence.
4) Better being 'myopic' and aware than being telescopic from a distance
and unaware.
But all in all maybe Elisabeth genuinely meant these epithets for you. Like
her you function under a 'nom de plume' and so are open to fire. When you
live a very visible real life existence and your identity is never in doubt
then you are taken a bit more seriously.
Am off to Aldona for my weekend!

Give this some thought. Elisabeth could be Cecil Pinto using a fake e-mail
address. Or for that matter Vivek (of Goan Voice fame) could actually be
Elisabeth using a fake e-mail ID and drawing attention to herself! Nothing
is beyond the realms of possibility where fake e-mail IDs go. Best policy
is to use your own name and identity - unless you're ashamed of it.
