I am not talking about John Claro's "Portuguez Kolvont". I am talking about
a drama which was staged in the mid 1960's and was held in the newly built
Alankar theater.

I hope you are not talking about John Claro's "Purtuguez Kolvont" with
Sabina/Greg
etc,if so, then it can't be 1960s but this tiatr, I think, was staged in
late
70's
or early 80's and it was a hit tiatr. I remember watching it. Infact, I
watched
it
twice, at first time, Sabina palyed the role of 'Purtuguez Kolvont' with lot
of
Portuguese talking on stage, later on the same role was done by Anie Quadros
(Now
playing for prince Jacob) which (role) was not as good as Sabina..
But 'Purtuguez Kolvont' was not classified 'A' Certificate.

Minin Mario's "KITEAK HO BAZAR CHOLTA" tiatro with an "A" certificate may be
the first adult tiatro/show in this century. In the last century, somewhere
in the mid 1960s, a tiatro by John Claro with an A certificate was staged
in Mapusa in the newly built ALANKAR theater for the first time. It was
one of Sucurrine's first professional tiatros. Sorry, can't get the name.
John Claro or Sucurrine, could you please let us know the name of the
tiatro? BTW, that was the first and last time a Konkani tiatro was held in
Alankar theater; the reason? The owner (Mr. Rao) suffered a big loss by way
of damaged seats!
