If you took umbrage at my harsh description of your
advice, I apologise :-)
I will be very brief :
I have no idea how Goa should develop or which
industries should be invited and so on. I merely tried
to prove to you the following:
1. Walmart(and other behemoth retailers) destroy local
economies,local culture as well as local environment.
The walmart that u see outside of your window will
probably be a huge empty box once Walmart has realised
its ROI. That is not planned development, that is
called urban sprawl. Please dont confuse that with
planned development.
2. Your assertion that walmart and others are
"welcomed by americans" is also open to debate. The
poll that i quoted as well as one conducted by
university of Mass at lowell found out that majority
of people dont want walmart in their locality. The
list of comunities fighting walmart is growing.
BTW if you are a supporter of free market dynamics
shouldnt "ghantis" be allowed into Goa or wherever
they choose to go without any restrictions?? Your
earlier posts seem to suggest that you are opposed to
this kind of dynamics.
I think I have made my point clear, and if you choose
you could have the last word on this.
