Via Goanet, I received an unexpected email from a German gentleman,
presumably after reading an earlier article of mine, on Goan Dance Bands of
Yesteryear. He was very keen to contact a former school friend from Mombasa,
Kenya, who led the group the Shiftars.
It took me ages to obtain the telephone number he wanted, but in the
