Hi Santosh,

You are indeed a friend. So you continue to refuse to name your religious or
non-religious path.

You make me do a lot of research. This is because, as I have discovered, that
you present only part of the data to support your agenda. But goanetters are
lucky. I love to look at data. :=))

To pursue one of your long set of statistics, here is an example. Below you
quote the incarceration rats of European countries telling us it is "much
lower" (MUCH LOWER) except for USA. Perhaps your research did not extend to,
or you elected to ignore the numbers for traditional societies, though you did
include Japan. Likely you know those numbers. But to those who don’t, they are
Sri Lanka 91, Pakistan 59, India 29 per 100,000 population. Please compare
these to below.

You have not challenged my numbers on divorce rates, though they are different
from your data, also suggestng they have not changed over the decades. However
below your data on incarceration rates is further analysis of divorce rates in
USA. Perhaps you may not know, but most Catholics know the saying, "Families
that pray together stay together".
Regards, GL

Nonsense. The incarceration rates are much lower for all other western or
technologically advanced countries. U.S. is an exception. Here are the
incarceration rates for several developed countries.

U.S. ? 714 per 100,000 population
Canada ? 116 per 100,000 population
England and Wales ? 142 per 100,000 population
France ? 91 per 100,000 population
Germany ? 96 per 100,000 population
Spain ? 140 per 100,000 population
Netherlands ? 123 per 100,000 population
Denmark ? 70 per 100,000 population
Norway ? 65 per 100,000 population
Sweden ? 75 per 100,000 population
Japan ? 58 per 100,000 population
Australia ? 117 per 100,000 population

GL responds: Reported Incarceration rates for traditional societies in Asia:
Sri Lanka 91 per 100,000 population.
Pakistan 59 per 100,000 population.
India 29 per 100,000 population.

=============
DIVORCE RATES

--------------- Santosh's data on divorce:
A bogus assertion even from the standpoint of the U.S. In the U.S., according
to the 2001 census, 10.6% of the women are currently widowed and 10.8%
divorced.

GL responds:
FREQUENCY OF DIVORCE (please note the change over thirty years)

Nearly 1.2 million American marriages were dissolved by the courts in 1994 -
triple the 1960 figure.
Experts predict that nearly half of all new marriages will end in divorce.
Source: Los Angeles Times, 5/27/96, page A16.

Enrichment journal also gives similar divorce statistics in America
The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%
The divorce rate in America for second marriage is 60%
The divorce rate in America for third marriage is 73%

Children of Divorce Statistics:
According to discovery channel, couples with children have a slightly lower
rate (40%) of divorce than childless couples (66%). Sociologists also believe
that childlessness is also a common cause of divorce. The absence of children
leads to loneliness and weariness

I will leave it to the readers to determine whose Data and Conclusions are
"Nonsense" and "Bogus":=))
Regards, GL
