New Konkani VCD Film Chovis Voram highlights the Value of Time Time waits for none! And, he who underestimates the true value of time will succumb to the whims and fancies of time. This is the central theme of the new Konkani VCD Film appropriately titled Chovis Voram which will keep the audience spellbound as the story reaches its spectacular climax. The VCD Film is a Rock and Ranga presentation under the banner of Averly Productions, written ad directed by Simon Gonsalves. The film was released on August 9, 2006 at the Royale Terrasse venue at hands of Gaspar Almeida, an associate of Goa-World.com in Kuwait and, the General Secretary of the Goan Welfare Society. The story revolves around a rich family with the head of the family Seby (Simon Gonsalves) always underlining the value of time. In sharp contrast his prodigal son Deryl (Mini Mario) underestimates the opportunities offered by the passing time. Deryls sister Quinnel (Jessica) loves her brother too much, but, at the same time, she is in love with a poor and physically disabled (with one hand only) boy Richie (Willy Silveira). When Deryl comes to know about the love between his sister Quinnel and Richie, he gets furious and hatches a plot to kill Richie. Deryl confides his plan to his best friend Braz (Adian Goes) and entrusts him the task of executing the plan. And, from thereon the story takes a significant detour to unfold the next Chovis Voram in the film that ends in thrilling suspense. In fact, a twenty four hour period in ones life can turn out to be bliss or may end in a tragedy. The film is a must see for all lovers of Konkani language. It would not be an understatement if I state that the film definitely blazes a trail on the horizon of the Konkani language. The VCD film is produced by Rajesh A Bhosale and filmed by Spirit at beautiful locations. The background music by Nelvin Fernandes is lilting to the ears. All the actors have given excellent performances. Comedy scenes are also rib tickling, particularly, the scene in which, it highlights that, in olden times, swine butchers used to hunt and trap pigs with hounds but, now the modus operandi has shifted to modern technology, like the Mobile telephones to hunt and capture the pigs. The dialogues are also worth mentioning except for some minor failings that can be overlooked. Simon Gonsalves deserves all kudos for such a magnificent directorial ventures and considering the fact that the film was shot and completed in a record time speaks volumes of the hard and altruistic work put in by all those involved in the success of the film. Simon Gonsalves has also on the anvil for the first time in Kuwait a Konkani religious drama titled, Chalis Dis Chalis Rati to be staged during the lent season in 2007 Lino B. Dourado
