Hi Santana I regret I must have missed your post earlier but am happy to reply now. Most importantly, my view is that when anyone makes an accusation of rape, whether against an individual or group, then it is incumbent for that person to provide the evidence or indicate the source of the evidence or even indicate why the evidence is difficult to obtain. I do not think anyone would deny that rape takes place in times of war but its intensity may vary significantly in different situations.
If evidence re the accusation is not available, then it may be wisest not to make the accusation. Further, it is not for the reader of a Goanet post to search for evidence which may or may not be there. The responsibility for evidence lies with the person making the allegation. All of us bear responsibility for what we write and say. This particularly applies to anyone who makes a serious accusation. I am sure you would agree with this view if you were accused of a serious mis-demeanour either singly or as a member of a group.
