Mario, this is like arguing that Jesus wasn't a Christian, and hasn't Karl Marx himself said: "All I know is I'm not a Marxist"? http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/k/karl_marx.html It's also much like arguing that the actions of the Soviet Union didn't match those of Marxist theory, and hence the former shouldn't be taken to reflect adversely on the latter. Leave theory alone, the tree is to be judged by its fruit, right? Likewise, you cannot say all those military and other dictators spawned by US interests during the Cold War were not true reflections of how US-style "democracy" works since they were never elected to power in the first place via a "democratic" process. The point is that Hitler came from the Conservative Catholic world view of southern Germany. And that he misused religion for political purposes, while the religious authorities might have kept quiet about it, not done enough to combat this misuse, or actually sought to benefit from the situation. I make this point primarily not to offend the sentiments of other Catholics, but to remind people like you that your persistent talk of "Islamic fascism" is a propaganda ploy, wholly misplaced, and a very unfair label to the hundreds of millions who practice that religion in a peaceful manner. In fact, the shoe is very much on the other foot! Have to stop here. Actually, we're straying far off the theme of Goanet.
