I would like to state for the record that Helga do Rosario Gomes in her post archived at http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2006-August/047398.html was the first person in history to refer to Canadian Goans as Gonadians.
Many years from now there will be arguments about who coined the term and who took Gonadianism forward and who took credit for it all. Since no Canadian Goan had the gonads to object to Helga's nomenclature I will assume they are in agreement about this new term that has been coined to describe them. I would request Helga to please give us the entire coinage. Gonadian = A Goan Canadian Gonadianism = A characteristic of Gonadians, that comes to the fore at Viva Goa. Gonad = a single male Gonadian searching for a life mate at Viva Goa. What else do we have? Gonadiality? Gonadophobia? Gonadophilia? Anti-Gonadism? Helga, also please also educate us if Goan Americans should now be called Gonericans, those in Australia - Gonalians, New Zealand - New Golanders, Brazil - Gozzillians, France - Gonch? This is a much more interesting thread, in my Gonjimite (Goans in Panjim) humble opinion, than who invented Goa Day and who carried the football forward. Cheers!
