Government of India has accorded ‘in principle’ approval for construction of an airport of international standards at Mopa in Goa. This information was given to the Parliament by Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation in the Rajya Sabha today. The State Government of Goa has submitted detailed techno-economic feasibility study report with the help of Airport-De-Paris and IATA/Stup Consultants Pvt. Limited (India). Government of India has constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister of Goa to look into all aspects relating to the construction of new airport at Mopa. MC/GK
