Hello percy, This 'License' of yours, if it is indeed a 'valid' license by expiry date etc. is valid for driving in India. The License has nothing to do with your type of passport or country of residence.
On the other hand, a foreign obtained 'Driving License' is also valid for driving in India, but it has to be accompanied by an 'international license' issued by the authority that issued the foreign license, in the first place. I hope the above info is of some help, and wish you good and safe driving. When in India, it is often not the license that really matters, but your true driving abilities and the ability to cope with lawless, ruleless driving by most of the other drivers on the road! So please always do defensive driving, and never with alcoholic drink in your system!
