Priest's murder case adjourned BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, AUG 25 — The sensational Fr Eusebio Ferrao murder case was adjourned yet again for want of police guards to escort the two alleged killers from Sada jail to the Sessions Court here.
When the case came up for hearing on Friday, the accused duo of Amit Shukla and Manish Dubey were conspicuous by their absence in the court room presided over by Judge Bimba Thaly. Realisation later dawned that the accused persons could not be produced before the court from the jail due to shortage of policemen to escort the duo from the jail to the court. Incidentally, this is the second time in the last one month that the case had to be adjourned for want police guards to escort the accused. The last time was on the eve of the popular Saptah festival in the port town of Vasco. The court had fixed hearing of the case on Friday for appearance of Government advocate for accused Manish Dubey, after he agreed to take government free legal aid. Accused Amit Shukla has engaged city-based lawyer, P P Singh and the matter is posted for arguments before charge against the two accused. -- for Goa & NRI related info... ttp://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ Konkani Songs, Goan Photos, Tiatr/Film VCDs, Bank interest rates etc etc (for updates etc click below) http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/files/ _______________________________________________ Goanet mailing list [email protected] http://lists.goanet.org/listinfo.cgi/goanet-goanet.org
