You're probably right.

May I point out though, when I did no/little-opinion-injected
reporting for years together, I was accused of being a "fence sitter".
Now, you have my views out there, someone discovers they don't like
it, and dismisses it with labels.

Please argue against views, not persons. You have a right to your
opinion though (on judging my arrogance level, or whatever).

My comments were made in a certain context. Which is (if you'll give
me the chance to quote myself, as some religioius authorities are wont
to do):

Some posters feel a needless urge to prove others' religion wrong.
This probably comes from the arrogance that goes monotheism (but, not
restricted to them).

Regardless of what your friend avers, and what position he held in the
seminary, the facts speak for themselves. I am not saying polytheism
is superior to monotheism, or that monotheism is superior to
polytheism. They're just different. But let's face the facts squarely
and admit that if you believe in the "one true God" ideal, it could
make you somewhat to pretty intolerant to the religious beliefs of
others. If I could be proven wrong on this one, it's going to be
great: not from the point of my own ego, but in the interest of global
understanding. --FN

PS: BTW, I was just speaking on a very specific point. In no way am I
suggesting that intolerance and bigotry comes from one religion alone.
It exists in different forms. I do hold that Hindutva (the
politicisation of religion, not religion or Hinduism itself) is a
major threat to India and its diversity and unity. Not from the
minorities' point of view (as is often portrayed on fora such as
Goanet), but from the point of the view of the majority of Hindus
themselves!
