Hi Saw this email a little late since I was travelling to Australia ! I just wanted to know if you have a list of members or could I enroll myself in the list of Dubai Goans. On another note, in case you are interested in sponsorship for any Goan events such as the one below do let me know in future - I could try and help in some way.

Event organiser, Lenny Noronha, while addressing a Press Conference in Dubai yesterday, said that the Dubai Chapter decided to have a get together to maintain the traditional festival that is being held every year in Bandra, Mumbai. The event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Deira, Dubai. The actual fest is celebrated in the suburbs of Mumbai every year to mark the feast day of the Virgin Mary, which is celebrated by Christians at the Basilica of Mount Mary in Bandra. "We want our fellow colleagues from Mumbai to have a feel of the spirit of Bandra and that is why the association here decided to host this event simultaneously with the celebrations back home," said Noronha. The event is being sponsored by Precision Machineries, UAE Xchange co- sponsored by Beacon Shipping LLC and supported by Winny's Restaurant, Televes, Chelsea Hotel and Mister Baker. Noronha, who was flanked by the association's official Jerry Araujo, said that the highlights of the evening will feature sweet stalls, clown shows and many other entertainments that will keep the guest on their toes, besides dancing to the music of Goa's own, Dubai based V3 band, geared up with Mandos, a traditional Goan folk-dance etc. Entrance fee will be 75 dirhams per head, that includes a sumptuous a Dinner followed by a dance and raffle draw that includes spot prizes. There will be a dancing competition such as Jive dance, Novelty dance etc with fabulous prizes at stake, including air tickets. At least over 350 people are expected for this extravaganza. Dubai has a large concentration of Goans, who migrated there in search of greener pastures. Though being away from home, the expatriate Goans here have a well knit community and always come together to celebrated feast by organizing dinner dances and other events. "For those who are not familiar of Bandra, the area is a bustling heritage corner of Mumbai which is also called the Queen of the Suburbs, and is a most happening place with a large concentration of the Catholic community. Traditionally, thousands of people visit the week-long Bandra Fair in the suburb of Bandra in Mumbai," says Noronha.
