It is not the question of WHAT you eat, one can even eat cats, snakes, Lizards,
cockroaches
etc etc who cares ?
But it does matter WHERE you eat and hence I have clearly advised our Gov. next
time, to eat
dog meat elsewhere.
Fyi, Goa Sadan is of the Goans and for the Goans (non-eaters of dog meat) and
if someone cooks
& eats Dog meat in our own home, naturally, there would be some objections. And
this is what
exactly happened, even the cooks there complained about it.
Look at me, I visit there (Goa Sadan) very often too. Now, every time I go
there will it not
remind me of dog meat ? I am sure it will affect others too. Canteen there
may run out ot
business, thanks to Gov.
Moeover, I have three dogs with me, one Dobb, One Daschund & One Local. They
are my only best
friends. People do know I have plenty other friends, sometimes they ask me who
is my best
friend and I always said 'My Dogs' all other are just blood suckers. So, why
then I still hang
on with them ? Perhaps, I can do without them.
btw, once, unknowingly I ate 'KOL-UNDIRACHI XACUTI' taste was just like any
other xacuti

So you guys are having low-down digs at a Governor supposedly because
he eats dog meat, eh? I hold no brief for the incumbent in the post
(and generally have not much sympathies for this colonial institution
anyway). Jamir can be criticised on a number of grounds, including his
high security expenditure (as has been done recently on Goanet) or
even his brand of North East politics.
But to critique someone on the basis of what they eat, is pretty
below-the-belt. May I remind the vast majority of the posters on this
forum that their pig-eating habits are held in equal contempt as
someone else's alleged dog-eating preferences!
So let's not get sanctimonous about such things, learn to accept
diversity, and appreciate that cultural differences are... well, just
that. Cultural differences. FN
