As we are deep into our research now, we will present our revolutionary
paper only at the PAN IIT Conference in Bombay in Dec 2006. In the mean time
all Bandraite hockey players, coaches and enthusiasts should read and
familiarize themselves with Balbir Singh-ji's new book the "Golden
Yard-stick" on objective training tactics and techniques for hockey - due to
be released on Oct 5.

Hope these few lines find you in good health and cheer. Allow me to
introduce myself. I am an ex Stanislite besides being a keen hockey player.
I did represent my Alma mater, college, Bombay Univ., as well as the
state at Jr. and Sr. levels I have also represented Mahindra & Mahindra and
will always be proud to have been associated with the sport.
It would be interesting to have some information on
the definition, principles and benefits of of Systems Engineering
Principles and how it can revolutionize hockey.

Hockey always has been and will always be a part of the Stanislite's
forum.
Stanislites can use the Systems Engineering Principles too to dominate
Bombay Schools' Hockey for the foreseeable future. In this exchange,
Mario Goveia and myself are no strangers to St. Stanislaus and
Bombay
Schools'
Hockey. Mario's uncle Mr. Tony Fernandes of Bandra and Pune was a famous
Lusitanians full-back of his time. Mario's cousin Vincent Fernandes was
a distinguished goalkeeper for Stanislaus in the late 60s/early 70s and
his cousin Mark Fernandes was a distinguished ex-Stanislite who was a
famous Right Inner for Mt. Abu and IIT Kharagpur. They both inspired my
hockey and IIT careers. I played for Stanislaus, Bombay in the Jr.
Nationals, Combined Universities, Indian Airlines, IIT Kharagpur and
tried out for Team India and Team USA. So this exchange on Using Systems
Engineering Principles to Revolutionize Hockey was highly relevant to
what Stanislites could glean from it of our aspirations for St.
Stanislaus from India's perspectives to dominate Bombay Schools's Hockey
once again ! Remember we Stanislites are All Born for Greater Things
!
If possible, I will bring my former coach and current research
collaborator the great 3-time Olympic Gold Medallist Balbir Singh Sr. to
St. Stanislaus this winter and conduct a camp or clinic for our current
Stanislite hockey team.

I think most of us appreciate your sentiments about hockey and the
strong bond you have towards India. However, this is a forum for
stanislites to get together, exchange information about the school and
try to keep in touch with each other. Let us not lose the spirit of the
forum by intermixing it with discussions that really are not part of
this forum.
