Hi Cornel,

Thanks for admittng that application of Systems Engineering Principles to
Field Hockey is mind-boggling - we want it to be that way ! to confuse the
hell out of our European, Australian, Pakistani opponents - Because if it
was not mind-boggling, then everyone would do it and try to stay on top of
world hockey. Just like we Indians improvised the "Hit and run" game of the
British in the early 1900s and adapted it to our flexible wrists by
incorporating dribbling into the game, we will incorporate Systems
Engineering Principles which have put India and Indians on the top of the
high tech world of Compure Science and Computer Software. We will mobilize
those competencies and resources to put us on the top of the world rankings
in field hockey. We hope to complee our paper and present it to the PAN IIT
Conference in Powai in Dec 2006.

But as a fellow Goenkar hockey player who has a tremendous affinity for Goa
and India, I do not want to keep you guessing till Dec. For example, we will
be looking into Systems Integration of Hardware (Physical Fitness and
Conditioning) and Software (Formations, Strategies, Methodologies, and
Techniques).

We hope that this will give Indians a new perspective to look at hockey. We
will also introducxe objectivity into the game by using the objective
techniques described by Balbir Singh-ji in his new book "The Golden Yard
Stick" which is scheduled to be released in October 2006.This should remove
any subjectivity in training our players and selecting of our teams !

Hopefully this should usher in a new era in Indian Hockey. After finishing
near the bottom of the world ranking after this World Cup, the only
direction Indian Hockey will go is Up !

Best Regards,

Dr. Carmo D'Cruz,
Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
