BEAUTY AT ITS BEST: Now tourists are looking forward to discovering
this untouched beauty of Goa.
Goa: The tiny emerald land on the west coast of India is best known as
a place of sandy beaches and parties. But far from the popular tourist
hotspots, sandy beaches and loud parties – lush greenery, sparkling
waterfalls and the calm of the countryside is the other face of Goa.
Now tourists are looking forward to discovering this untouched beauty of Goa.
"I travelled through the interiors of Goa and found them very
beautiful. As beaches are also getting crowded day-by-day, interiors
of Goa will become a major attraction for the tourists. In my opinion,
there are many spectacular places in the interiors of Goa, probably
more beautiful than the beaches," said Siddhartha, a tourist.
Goa Tourism Department is now trying to attract tourists to unexplored
areas like Tambdi Surla.
"We are going to take all the tourists to these hinterlands. We are
going to promote hinterland tourism in Goa. Even our GTDC boats are
going to take them to these interiors through rivers where no other
boats take them to," says Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC)
Chairperson Fatima D'sa.
If these initiatives succeed then soon Goa could also be known for its
jungle safaris and trekking trails.
