It is often said that the kunbis are the "original Goans", but pre-Portuguese history says that a group of, I think, 12 families came from the north and settled on the banks of the river Zuari in present-day Cortalim. These families were possibly Aryans, who first came to India from central Asia. Or is it central Europe? Someone can go back to the history books and check the details. The answer to Cecil's question lies in first knowing if what I wrote is what history tells us. It may or may not be "true" in historical sense, because ancient Indian history is a mixture of myth, fiction and strands of historical data.
