Macazana Priest Murder Case: Both accused now pleaded NOT GUILTY The sessions Court Margao framed charges of murder againat the two UP natives, Amit Shukla & Manish Dhubey (see pics below) for killing of former Macazana Parist Priest Fr. Both Manish & Amit were present in the courtroom where they pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges and prefered to stand for trial, which will now commence on Oct.17. Manish was represented by legal aid consel Adv. N. Fernandes. (H). The murder took place on the night of 17th March 2006. JoeSays: The Police and the Press earlier reported that both the accused have admitted or confessed killing. So, why not plead guilty now ? The said admittance or confession, was it a result of police so called 'Third Degree Torture' ? Ferrao told Manish that it was not the time to talk about the job but to sleep. Suddenly, Manish jumped on him and Amit gagged him with a pillow when the priest started shouting for help. Fr. Ferrao picked up a kitchen knife in self defence but Manish overpowered him and stabbed him till he died. The accused confessed to being in a drunken state when the incident took place between 12 - 1 am, DIG said. NT THE DU0 IN PRIEST'S MURDER ARRESTED IN NAGPUR - H Admit to killing and say it was under influence of alcohol. When asked what could be the motive, the DIG said "during the investigation Manish had confessed that he was too drunk after consuming beer offered by the priest. He said ..the duo was not used to drinking and the two bottles they had on the fateful night intoxicated them.
