Dear Ronald Martins, One of the most common causes of suicide is depression. Although too frequently diagnosed in the West, it often escapes the radar in Goa. People are still ashamed of mental illness in Goa and try their best to hide it. Depression can be addressed by appropriate drugs, and a timely diagnosis could save a life.
