I am appalled to find out that you a leading politician of Goa does not know much about the history of Goa's Rulers ! Please note that the present day Ranes are Scions of the Ranes of Sanquelim who are still considered one of the leading ruling dynasties of Goa like the Kadambas. They were among the original Aryan settlers of Goa from the first wave of Aryan Invasions by the Kshatriyas (Chardos) - so these guys have a lot of history - they are not the Johnny-Come-Lately Goans like the GSBs. The Ranes of Sanquelim are famous in Goa's history for ably putting down the revolt of the Pintos of Candolim (in which Abe Faria was involved). Goa did show the promise of Dynastic Democracy with the Bandodkar-Kakodkar regimes, but it was not sustained. The relative stability and predictabilty of Dynastic Democracy makes economic sense for a fast growing economy like Goa. India pioneered the concept of Dynastic Democracy with the Nehru-Gandhi families through 5 generations of that family - Motilal Nehru who ensured that Jawarhal was an able PM, Jawaharlal, Indira, Rajiv & Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. America, that beacon of democracy has finally warmed up to this concept with The Bush family dynasty Bush Sr, George W. Bush, Jeb Bush and the Clinton Family - Bill & Hillary. Dynastic Democracy should also be an impediment to Goan Gaon Goons like MP Churchill Alemao and MLA Mickey Pacheco from establishing a family political base and making a GAAN of the place !We need to ensure that there are dynastic democracy traits among the opposition too in Goa. In a dynastic democracy, children are goomed into politics at an early age and they are not learning on-the-job like MP Alemao and MLA Pacheco !
