Hi Borg Costa Like Clinton, I am inclined to say I feel your pain regarding the working and living conditions you describe in Dubai. I believe your warning to people who may be inclined to rush there is timely and helpful. You have thought about several situations with much care and feeling.
On our TV we have seen the terrible unsafe working and living conditions among the manual workers from India, and in contrast, the glamorous accomodation built by those workers for those who can afford to pay well from richer countries. For some, Dubai is paradise today but it is definitely hell for other exploited workers. However, instead of an all gloom message to people dying to get out of Goa to work, why not think of other destinations besides Dubai? The Internet does provide, quite often, details of openings in places like Australia and New Zealand. Currently, there does seem to be much work available there for skilled people and surely, Dubai does not need to be the end point for anyone really enterprising and wanting to get out of Goa rather badly. Do cheer up Borg. Life elsewhere is invariably hard to start with but it also invariably gets better. The world for the optimist has much more to offer than what is seemingly available to a despirited pesimist. So, just get a move on Borg and surprise yourself! Some 200 million people across the world are doing just that! Ahlan Dubai....... Welcome Dubai....... With so many Indians hopping the next flight to Dubai (or U.A.E in general) to make their dreams happen........life would turn out to be a shocker here. _______________________________________________ Goanet mailing list [email protected] http://lists.goanet.org/listinfo.cgi/goanet-goanet.org
