Hi, the information about VIKRANT is incorrect. VIKRANT was a MAJESTIC class carrier named HMS HERCULES, which was completed for the RN at the end of WW2 but never used . I served on her as a young Midshipman in 1964. Can still vividly recall the roar of jets being launched and recovered on her decks. The IN has not bought British warships for the past 45 years. We built our first frigate INS NILGIRI at about that time and have built up an efficient force of surface warships and submarines, mostly of indigenous construction. The guided missile Destroyers of the MUMBAI class are as good as any of that type in the world. regards, Gilbert Menezes
