Aarti can be performed anywhere. If iti s performed in a temple, its like
a venetation to the diety. Aarti can be performed to a friend who is
visiting you after many years. Its a type of invocation, a blessing, May
God be with you. When a Hindu daughter-in-law enters her in-laws house for
the first time, aarti is performed on her. On the Aarti thali, there are
five little lamps, which are lit when performing the aarti.
