3 Direct schedule International flights to Goa
Russia based Transaero Airlines first international scheduled flight
landed in Goa on 26th Oct. from Moscow .
Transaero will operate on regular schedule round the year from Moscow
and St.Petersburg.
Curretnly operates with Boeing 767 a/c and in anticipating of high
load of passengers they will operate B747 Jumbo from December 30.
Srilankan Airways also to start twice weekly schedule flights as from 30th Oct.
Departs Goa Mondays/Saturdays around 8am
Condor to operates twice a week to Germany .
Condor was the first charter flight to Goa in 1984
Now Fly out of Goa every Thurdays & Sundays as schedule flight.
Any Goans in Germany & Russia will now be able to take direct flights
and may be even cheaper.
One can even travel on Indian passport and there are no restrictions
like that of Chartered flights

It paid Rs.6 lakhs per month where it could well afford to pay up to
Rs.31.5 lakhs per month (another huge loss of Rs.6.12 crore or
Rs.612,00,000-What a mismanagement!!)
When the 4 screen multiplex renewal/tender came up, Inox quote was
the lowest i.e.Rs.7.5 lakhs (others were 31.5, 16.5, 15.5, 14.5, 12.1
lakhs)
Inox will now pay more than 5 times i.e. from 6 lakhs to 31.5 lakhs.
To match the highest. bidder M2K.
As per the agreement between the Inox and then Govt, there is a clause
it seems, which gives Inox a right to match with the highest bidder.
The then agreeing parties must be really too good to each other.
Let's study this simply arithmetic of Inox Income
Total sceens/halls 4
Total sitting capacity 1272 (let's take average 600 (less than 50%
capacity) per 4 shows/screens or 150 per show)
Total Max shows per day 25 (let's take average 20 shows per day)
Ticket charges ranges 60-80 selected matinee shows only &120-150 all
other times. (lets take av. Rs.110/ticket (Pl note: there is only one
rate or one class at a time but rates vary depending upon time/day/new
movies etc e.g. New movie like DON first few days or week can cost
Rs.150 all day all shows, including matinee).
So,
150x20shows =3000 tickets per day
Rs.110x3000=3,30,00
Rs.3,30,000x30days =Rs. 99,00,000 per month (income from inhouse
vendors ignored)
And what Inox was paying? Just 6 lakhs

It is still not very clear whether the Govt has decided to go ahead
with the new bridge or not.
The Report which came on GT not seen on any other English dailies.
However, an amount of Rs.21 lakhs to spend on carrying out load
testing work for the single span for about 2 days. May be from today
29Oct. The PWD minister said the 10 member team will present its
report soon and only then he would take his decision on opening the
bridge for heavy traffic.

According to GO, Several crore have spent on Minister's mansion in Varca.
It was alleged that Joaguim Alemao spent Rs. 2 crore on the interior
decoration alone.
Where the money come from ?
Two possible answers:

6-lane Expressway (Congress against Congress ?)
The proposed 6-lane expressway by the congress government, for which
global bids invited for appointment of consultancy services and
techno-economic feasibility studies for the project . Churchill
Alemao also Congress MP, firmly opposed the project (Expressway)
and threatened to bring people of Goa on the streets if the Govt goes
ahead with the project.
